A town that is almost 400 years old, that sits at the base
of the Rocky Mountains and is known as "The City Different" is bound to have a little something for everyone. Santa Fe is known for its many world class museums, shops and boutiques, art galleries and wide range of entertainment from dance to theater to music. The city boasts 10 museums. It also bills itself as the third largest art market in the United States with more than 250 galleries in the area. In addition, the summer Indian, Folk Art and Spanish markets and the companion winter Spanish market draw tens of thousands of buyers
and browsers.
Entertainment includes 23 movie screens, an opera, an orchestra, a symphony, small classical music ensemble, Shakespeare in Santa Fe, and flamenco and classical guitar music. Additionally, more than 200 restaurants serve everything from down-home Southwestern chile dishes to exquisite gourmet feasts.
